Garden history in the north

Horticulture in northern Norrland only had its big breakthrough in the early 1900th century, and the road to it was long and winding.

Architectural antiquarian Pernilla Lindström, Skellefteå Museum, tells more about how state propaganda, the clergy and the housekeeping society managed to spread the enthusiasm for farming to the north, what the gardens looked like and what was grown there.
