Are you also curious about the incomparable women who have lived and worked in Gammelstad and Luleå throughout history? Then you are warmly welcome to a lecture in Petrigården in Gammelstad's church town.
On March 8, International Women's Day, you are invited to this exciting lecture with engaging stories about women of the time in Gammelstad and Luleå.
Emelie Rubensson, guide and tourist information officer at the Visitor Center, tells about the living conditions and social status of women here in the past, and what role they played when visiting the church town. You will also hear stories about church attendance and marriage, as well as fascinating personal portraits of some female profiles from the area.
Karin Tjernström, archivist at Norrbotten Museum and an expert on local women's history, also participates. She talks about the fight for equality, equal value for all and women's suffrage in our region.
Free admission but pre-book your place so we know how many people are coming!
