The mining community of Laver

Between 1936 and 1947, 350 people lived in a state-of-the-art community in the forest 5 kilometers west of Älvsbyn. Today, it has been abandoned for many years. 

Älvsbyn's former municipal councillor Bill Nilsson gives guided tours of the old mining community of Laver. Now that plans for new mining operations are being discussed again, he talks about what the community once looked like and the people who lived there.
