Tina Harnesk debuted in 2022 with the novel "Folk som sår i snø". In the book, the story of the Swedish state's forced relocation of the Karesuandosam a hundred years ago is told through the story of Máriddja and Biera, an elderly couple who live outside the official society.
The book also features the Sami woman Risten, who is forced to renounce her entire Sami origin in order to save herself and her son from the son's violent father. She is forced to cut her roots and the book describes how this makes her sick. In autumn 2023, the book was voted Book of the Year by Bonniers Bokklubbar's members.
In 2024, Harnesk came out with "Mother's Marrow" where she delves into Sami history and the destinies of her own Lule Sami family through the lives of two women in two timelines, the present and the 1600th century. The focus is on both motherhood and the exploitation of Sápmi, where she describes the earth as a woman's body that is being eaten from the inside by human greed.
At Kulturcentrum Ebeneser, Tina Harnesk talks about the books and about her writing.
The lecture is free of charge and no reservation is required.
