Since January 19th, I have been the new museum director of Norrbotten Museum. I would now like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
If you work with the cultural history of Norrbotten and are planning to publish a scientific paper - you can now apply for funding from the Kjell and Catarina Lundholm Foundation.
This year's theme is "Care and Welfare" and depicts the county's social history with a focus on people's vulnerability - poverty, illness, disabilities and children's upbringing conditions.
Information on where you can purchase the book can be found via the link below.
The renovation is in full swing and there is a lot being renovated. Many are curious about how the work is going - in the video below we tell you more about the exciting work that is going on behind the scenes.
The museum building in Luleå city center is closed for renovation until further notice. If you are curious about what we are doing, you can read about the renovation via the link below.
Since the end of the 1800th century, Norrbotten's museum has collected objects that tell the story of the county's history. It's a wide collection - from painted chests and cabinets to plastic plates and napkins. Norrbotten's museum also has an extensive image archive. The archive contains images from the museum's own documentation in the county, as well as from photographers and private individuals. You can see pictures and objects in our museum collection database Carlotta.
In the VAS (Visual Archive Search) system, you have the option of searching among your own lists on internal pages or on the internet.
