  • a sanatorium in Antnäs
  • Spanish flu in Arjeplog 1920
  • Furunäset Mental Hospital in Piteå
  • how the special needs school and preschool activities developed
  • the story of a child who contracted polio and his stay in an insane asylum in the early 1950s
  • What life was like for unmarried mothers at Karlsvik's maternity and infant home in the 1930s
  • What life was like for the little ones at the Salvation Army orphanage in Malmberget
  • a deaf-mute boy from Överkalix in the early 1800th century and his unusual educational journey
  • Poverty during the crop failures of the 1800th century, with examples from Piteå and Tornedalen

Lecture with slide show

Kerstin Cunelius is one of the authors of the yearbook, and she will show a slideshow in connection with the book launch. The slideshow shows the history of the Salvation Army orphanage Solgården set in its contemporary context. The orphanage was located in Malmberget.

At the turn of the last century, Malmberget was a community characterized by a great housing shortage and widespread alcohol abuse. The slideshow highlights women's history through the work of the slum sisters. Kerstin's father Frans Cunelius lived at the orphanage from 1916 to 1930.
